Steven E. Leder

Steven E. LederSteven E. Leder, the founder of the Leder Law Group, has over 30 years of experience in the principal areas of the firm’s practice. An AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Leder has published and lectured extensively.

Mr. Leder is active in the insurance coverage and defense bars.  He has participated in the Defense Research Institute’s Insurance Law section authoring articles for The Defense, the organization’s monthly magazine, and has contributed to several 50 state compendia of insurance law and to a forthcoming book on allocation. Litigation training is a cornerstone of his practice. Mr. Leder regularly acted as the Program Chair and speaker for the Maryland Institute for Continuing Practical Education of Lawyer’s (“MICPEL”) commercial insurance program and was a regular instructor for MICPEL’s Deposition Training course. He was on the Executive Committee and served as Program Chair of the Maryland Defense Counsel for many years. He is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.

Mr. Leder is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for Maryland, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. In addition, he has represented clients in the courts in New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and Wisconsin.

He has been named to the list of Maryland Super Lawyers from 2007 through the present, and was recognized in the Baltimore Magazine for practice areas that include Insurance Coverage, Environmental Litigation and Transportation / Maritime.

Mr. Leder received his J.D. degree from the Gonzaga University School of Law and his B.S. degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder.  He founded the Leder Law Group in 2003.

Thomas W. Hale

Thomas W. HaleThomas W. Hale, a principal of the firm, focuses his practice primarily in toxic tort and construction litigation. He represents defendants in cases involving lead paint, petroleum products, chlorinated solvents, carbon monoxide, phosgene, arsenic, mold, and pesticides. He represents general contractors and subcontractors construction litigation in both single family home and condominium settings.

Mr. Hale published an article on investigating lead paint claims for Mealy’s Litigation Report/Lead in 2008.

Mr. Hale is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He has served as an instructor in MICPEL’s Deposition Training Seminar. He received his J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law and received his B.S. from Stevenson University.

Julie F. Maloney

Julie F. MaloneyJulie Maloney, a principal of the firm, focuses her practice on insurance coverage, toxic torts and recreational boating. Ms. Maloney’s caseload has ranged from multi-million dollar construction defect coverage disputes to claims involving D & O coverage issues. Ms. Maloney has defended clients in lead paint, pesticide, carbon monoxide and mold cases. She has successfully defended clients in serious recreational boating accidents.

Ms. Maloney’s articles concerning insurance coverage have been featured in Covered Events. She has lectured on personal injury damages recoverable in Maryland. Ms. Maloney is a member of the Defense Research Institute (and its Insurance committee), the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Ms. Maloney is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She received her J.D. degree cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she served as a staff editor of the University of Baltimore Law Forum. She received her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1993.

Michael W. Fox

Michael W. FoxMichael W. Fox focuses his practice on toxic torts and construction law. Mr. Fox is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and Maryland Defense Counsel. Mr. Fox received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2007. He received his B.A. in Biology from Indiana University in 1999. Prior to attending Law School, Mr. Fox worked in the asset management industry as an equity investment analyst.

Jeanie S. Ismay

Jeanie S. Ismay focuses her practice on toxic tort litigation. She also has extensive experience in subrogation, property insurance law, and construction defect matters. Ms. Ismay is a member of the Maryland State Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.  She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Maryland Defense Counsel, Inc.  Ms. Ismay received her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1999, and graduated from West Virginia University in 1996 where she received her B.A. in English Literature. She previously served as law clerk to the Hon. James E. Seibert, United States Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Christopher J. Olsen

Christopher J. Olsen focuses his practice on toxic torts and insurance defense. Mr. Olsen is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.  He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Maryland Defense Counsel, Inc.  Mr. Olsen received his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in May 2012 where he served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Business & Technology Law.  He graduated from the University of Rochester in 2009 receiving his B.A. in Political Science.

Jessica D. Corace

Jessica D. Corace focuses her practice on toxic torts and construction law. Ms. Corace is a member of the Bars of the State of Maryland, District of Columbia, and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association. Ms. Corace received her J.D. from Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida in 2010, and received her B.S. in Crime, Law and Justice from Penn State University in 2007. Prior to joining the Leder Law Group, Ms. Corace practiced insurance defense in Montgomery County, Maryland.
